Braidle
Find the hidden five-letter word in six guesses while practising Grade 1 Braille.
How to play
Guess a common English word with exactly five lowercase letters. This game uses Grade 1, uncontracted Braille: enter one letter cell per letter, without capital indicators, spaces or contractions. English entry is available as a learning alternative.
Each guess gives five clues: Correct means the letter is in the right position; Present means it belongs elsewhere; Absent means there is no remaining copy of that letter. Duplicate letters only receive clues for copies in the answer. Clues use words as well as colours.
Daily Braidle changes at midnight UTC and is separate from the five-question daily challenge. Practice has unlimited new puzzles. Unknown words and incorrect lengths use no guesses. No account is needed; your guesses are checked in your browser.
Accepted guesses include Australian, British, Canadian and American spellings from the English Speller Database. Puzzle answers use a smaller familiar-word selection. Word-list copyright and licence.

End of input · insert a cell.
Paste Unicode Braille, use the dot controls, or turn on six-key input. A space represents a blank Braille cell.
Focus the answer field. Hold dot keys together, then release all keys to enter one cell. Space inserts a blank cell; Backspace corrects. Escape turns off six-key input; Tab leaves the field.
Some keyboards cannot detect every chord. The individual dot checkboxes work on any keyboard or touchscreen. Screen reader users may need their platform’s pass-through or focus mode for chord entry.
Paste / type mode. Dot controls are always available.
No dots selected.
The highlighted cell is the replacement position. Choose its dots, then replace it, or insert before it. At End, either button adds a cell.
The board shows the Grade 1 Braille for each accepted English guess.
